And why didn't he arm his wife with a sniper rifle before going out there to face that bear? With her elevated position and the bear's linear path of attack she could've easily headshotted that beast and dropped it before it could do any damage. Now, I know what you're going to say that she probably wasn't his wife and that she could probably be just a girlfriend but honestly, I don't think that matters that much to the situation.
