F-22 Raptor in RIAT Airshow performs some amazing maneuvers, falls gracefully from the sky, then powers out and finishes with a tail slide.

Isn't this supposed to be a bad plane with terrible ground/maintenance to air hour ratio, horrible wing to body ratio providing little maneaubrability, no capacity for large ordinance, and already costing the american tax payer over 3 billion in development? How much is each one of these going to cost and how will it perform in a dogfight against the new flanker?

The F22 is a stealth aircraft with an EXTREMELY long range engagement distance. The dogfight would be over before it started. Usually the matchups are between the Su 35 and the F35.

Whenever you wonder who has the best military equipment between Russia and the United States it good to remember that Russia has a smaller economy than Canada.

I would consider that most long range missiles nowadays have very low efficiency due to advanced countermeasures. The Raptor might find itself in close quarters more often than you might expect. There's a lot of videos on youtube from experts in the field explaining all the shortcomings from trying to make an airplane that can do everything, but excels at nothing.

Agreed. The consus on the F22 is that its a prety fantastic fighter. Especially for being almost 14 years old now. Most complaints are with the F35. Including its 1.5 Trillion Dollar price tag.

Yes. You're correct I'm confusing them! I didn't know they were two different planes.

I'd also say Long Range Missiles are more effective than they've ever been. There's a reason China has been investing billions into missile programs designed to destroy American aircraft carriers, as well as billions more on coastal outposts to ward off missile crusiers, and again billions to move critical military infrastructure further inland. This is evident by most countries choosing now to build Missile Destroyers like the Zumwalt rather than traditional combat ships.

This is exactly how I woke up this morning, except it was a commercial airliner taking off making a loop and freefalling to the ground, while I was inside I did see the plane doing the loop in third person view, as we crashed into the ground, I accepted my faith and all I thought was I wonder what I will feel or if it will just turn dark, then my alarm went off, time to go to work, for that brief moment I wished that dream was real, instead I got up and got to work. Why am I sharing this? I have no fucking clue, but since I allready typed too much I might aswell post it.
