Excavation of artifacts and layout of the temples points toward a very large probability of child sacrifice.
DNA analysis confirms both boys and girls were found at the temple burial sites. Which could support both theories.
1. That there were no child sacrifices as boys in ancient times were more highly valued in society, and girls would not please the gods due to their lower value.
2. It is possible that girls were sacrificed as well because the parents may have been more willing to give them up for the sake of having some kind of blood sacrifice to offer.
Evidence is still mostly inconclusive as the artifacts and temple layout lean heavily towards sacrifice. Yet the DNA supports that may not have been the case since both boys and girls were found.
