Philly Bans Bulletproof Glass

what the councilwoman said at the end of the 2nd video, she claims the reason for removing the bulletproof glass is to stop small businesses from selling alcohol and "blunts" so that poor communities don't get addicted. how is removing the bulletproof glass going to stop that?

not condoning it, but that makes a kind of stupid sense. without the glass it'll be too dangerous to sell those things, they'll get robbed all the time, so they'll either have to move out of the neighborhood or not sell those things that attract the robbers.

of course that's not her real reason, i'm gonna bet on it's a play against family-owned businesses, hurting the profits of good old american corporations...

it sounds like she really wants them to close down. but that's not going to stop residents from buying alcohol and tobacco products. they will just have to take a bus to go to a bigger retailer that's a nicer neighborhood or has security guards. that means more money to corporations, and less local taxes. property value could go down with fewer businesses in the neighborhood. if she knows this, then either she's helping big business, or she's targeting specific small business owners for some reason.

I don't know what it is, why asian americans open businesses in the ghetto. is it because the cost of starting a business there is really low? and maybe competition in nicer neighborhoods is tough, especially for small business and immigrants? i grew up next to the ghetto and there was a street full of Korean owned clothing stores. then ther was a pharmacy and a few take-out restaurants by other asian americans.

another possibility is to free up the neighborhood for redevelopment which is massively profitable. getting those stores out will cause some residents to also leave, and make the rest of the place cheaper to buy.

as for why asians open businesses in a ghetto, first of all it's the lower purchase cost of the business real estate, but then when one family is in, racism does the rest. seriously asian ppl are racist af, they trust everyone from their home country only and don't even want to associate with others. this is why we have chinatowns and korean streets, because they all very deliberately keep to themselves.

It's Philly city government making itself look unfunctionally retarded. Burr's advice didn't seem like it was thought-out to any degree while it was exactly what anyone there with bullet-proof glass should do. Leave the bullet-proof glass  up and go right to the media. Go immediately to get everything logged and make sure they are triggered to make a huge story if the removal of the law results in any danger, injury, and hopefully not death. Be sure to have the media there and be sure to video the people removing it if they come (though what they will almost assuredly do is fine them continuously-city gov't takes every opportunity to turn anything into a money grab)

Then be sure the councilor knows about your action and tell the city government they are in line for a massive lawsuit-even research what legal ammo you could have against the moron councilor herself. When the city runs the whole thing past their "Crack legal team" and they see the massive liability, that law will be gone.

Then be sure to keep an eye on the city councilor. Log everything she does because if she is stupid enough to push something that idiotic, she will do more and who knows what insanity she will introduce like laws making it illegal to use locks.

LOL I thought I heard that and dismissed the possibility or even took an instant to watch it again. Solid journalism right there.
