Paragliding is awesome and I love it, all of my best friends are paragliding pilots, with that said I do NOT recommend starting the sport to anyone. If you are really interested to the point where you dream about it, in flying specifically as you can only with a paraglider, then and only then would I consider helping someone get started. It is dangerous and you can get seriously or fatally hurt, the level of safety is about the same as a motorcycle in my opinion except that with paragliding accidents 95% of the time it is pilot error. Watching your compilation of accidents from over 10-15 years ago by the way, almost ALL of the accidents were pilot error - equipment has gotten significantly better but pilots still make the same mistakes, god instruction and staying current are the best investments you can make in the sport. Lastly I will say some of the best moments of my life were while flying a paraglider but also some of the scariest - some people become great pilots and they learn from their own mistakes and those of others, those that don't learn either quit or get into nasty accidents.

Was it you that posted a video a couple of years back about Paramotoring?
I have wanted to fly my whole life and when I saw that video on here it inspired me to get it done.
I've now been training for about a month with a local group and instructor, purchased my equipment and did my first test run Thursday. I'm supposed to fly this weekend! I plan to post it as a Spiked Original when it happens.
I tried to search back through the old site before the switchover to find that video so I could shout out to the person that posted it and got me on the track to doing something I've wanted to do my whole life. I'm almost there.
