The spectacle of religion is really mind blowing... That's just some dude. That convinced people he can talk to god. And somehow asked for money, and is using their money to buy himself new things right in front of their eyes, while at the same time preaching against the lures of material things etc... Blows my mind.

It's psychological & I'm sure it's been figured out why people pay for someone else to provide peace of mind by telling them stories they can believe in. If it makes them happy & it's not hurting anyone it's all good. He's kinda like a Hollywoood producer.

Its not really complicated. He provides the same feelings and comfort that you used to get from your parents when you were worried or upset as a kid (Some kid at school called you 'poopy-pants'? Awww... don't worry mommy is here).
This guy does the same thing for adults (Worried that your job sucks and no-one loves you? Awww... don't worry, god has a plan for everyone)
