No shit. It made no sense that he would use chem weapons after Obama specifically said that was "the red line". Good to see Mattis is being honest. Him & Tillerson are working out pretty well so far. Making up for Trump's bumbling.
I'll hold my breath for CNN to run this story.
This guy's wrong re: war on Iran. Trump can't even drum up European support for more sanctions & Mattis knows the US has no winning strategy for a US v Iran hot war. It sucks that Iran has complied with every part of the nuclear deal and yet the US is still trying to renegotiate it. It took like 11 years to write.

Think you misunderstood the transcript above. He's saying there's evidence that people have been exposed to chlorine gas, and sarin gas - no evidence that Assad's regime deployed either. None.

Oh, well if I misunderstood and that is the context of the narritive. Then I retract my statement and add, I thought it wasn't Assad from the get go, didn't they say it was a terriorist group? Or did Assad "supposedly" release this on a terrorist group? <--- which still isn't that bad in my opinion.
I seem to remember lots of footage from kids being exposed to gas or dead. Which just screams propaganda to me or staged. Every time it happened anywhere else (kids being killed that is) no pictures or footage is show of the actual deaths or event. Just saying.

Several of the vids claiming to show victims appeared to be staged. The medics appeared to be actors (did not know what they were doing), they handled the victims with bare hands, etc. I think it most likely that they tear gassed some kids and then filmed the aftermath, said it was sarin.
