The Oakland Mayor tweeted that I.C.E was coming and to watch out.

(Oakland is a city near San Francisco, in California)
(I.C.E = U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they deport illegal immigrants)

Basicly, California State government is defying the federal government by harboring illegal immigrants, alarming them of raids and busts, and not DOING anything about their sanctuary cities. And overall undermining the immigration policies of the United States.

So the federal government is doing something about it instead.

"STATE RIGHTS" is a misnomer.  States do not have rights, only people. The more accurate term is "STATE POWERS".  Take a minute to put down the Koran and read the 10th Amendment and maybe, if the stars allign correctly, your dumb ass might realize what it means.

The Federal Government has certain enumerated powers.  Those powers not granted to the Federal Government are reserved to the States and to the People.  When you hear someone make a "States' Rights" argument against a Federal act, they are making the argument that the act is not allowed under the enumerated powers.

So let's look and see if immigration and naturalization is one of the power of the Federal Government.  Oh look, Article I, Section 8, Clause 4 givers Congress the power, “… To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, …”  In addition, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1876 that immigration regulation was an exclusive Federal responsibility.

George Wallace was using the "State's Rights" argument to defend segregation.  He was wrong, black children who were segregated were being deprived of the equal protection of the laws guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment.

Immigration enforcement is a power of the Federal Government.  By taking obvious steps to hinder ICE the politicians in California as no not unlike he politicians in the South prior to the Civil War.  For fuck sake, some of them wish to literally seceded
