Looks the the car knocked his bike out from underneath him, so he may have been sitting on the hood or just in front of the bumper as everything came to a stop. Eitherway, 1/10th of a second lucky.

It figured this whole thing would be caused by a freaking sports car with stencils. If there's one thing I've learnt in the US it is that most car accidents are caused by guys who drive fast and carelessly pretending to be above average drivers, too high on ego to actually notice a fucking traffic light change. I can't wait for self driven cars to be the law. I have driven over 25.000 miles on average per year since I started driving and always respected the speed limit. A good driver is one that respects the law and sticks to the speed limit. Anything else and you're increasing the chances of killing an innocent person.

I, on the other hand, have been driving for 20years and have never respected the speed limit. Zero accidents. Not even a scare.
Even though I don't respect the speed limit I don't drive like a maniac. I adjust my speed to the situation and always try to drive at the maximum safe speed not to mention respecting the rules of road.
However, I do support the limits. There's just not enough skill measurement involved when giving out a license and there are just too many wackos on the road.
PS: Although my initial words might make me sound like a maverick I'm basically talking about going over the limit by some 20-30mph, nothing too crazy.

I can follow your sentiment, if the traffic is driving at 60mph on a 50mph zone, it might even be dangerous to stick to the limit, although the law clearly states that you must. Driving is designed for the driver to constatly be making judgement calls. Driving over the speed limit is a judgement call. Keep in mind, insurance will not cover any accident where an excess in speed limit is registered. Good luck!
