If you take the time to actually read the letter it shows that they explained what actions they had done to further prevent school shootings and gun violence.
This is a case of: "I don't like your answer because it actually answered all my questions so I am going to focus on your grammar in an attempt to ridicule you"
And a case of the media playing: "Let us, as journalists, not mention the specific contents of the letter or whether it actually answered her questions, only vaguely, because we don't cover the actual work the President or the White House does."
