this game hasn't gotten any less weird looking since it was first announced.

I don't know why I should care about this game aside from the Kojima brand recognition. They've said nothing about what the game is about or what it will play like, and when pressed in interviews, the dude has remained tight lipped about it. At least with Metal Gear Solid, I had an idea of what to expect. The way they've promoted this game is just asinine. I think they should've just shut up about it until they were actually ready to say something about it. Showing me more weird shit with babies and phantom things isn't helping.

Nah man, just enjoy the mystery. I don't think he is hiding anything bad. He has claimed this will be a fresh genre of gaming with familiar elements such as stealth and exploration.
I love it when it when a trailer can make you feel all kinds of emotions without giving too much away.

This game does have a lot to do with physics. A lot of the phenomena about quantum physics he is incorporating in the game story and gameplay are very counter-intuitive, but not impossible to learn.
This slow approach in the promotion of this game will probably be rewarded by disguising complicated scientific theories as secret riddles or symbolism.
Now some people go full on spiritual with their theories about the game, but there is actual scientific background to a lot of the weird things that happens in these trailers. That does no mean that there is research that says there will be a waterworld you can gather objects from when you die in order to come back. Obviously there has to be some artistic freedom or else this would not be a Hideo Kojima game.
But everything from quantum entanglement, matter annihilation, wormholes, space time etc are shown in some manifestation in these trailers.
Which is why I'm hyped as fook for it.

Hey I wonder if the catalyst for the dystopia is that we finally created a genuine quantum supercomputer and it tore a rift between universes.

What I gathered...
Lots of exploration and possibly open world
Puzzle solving and resource gathering
Stealth is more important than combat
Loving it so far
