i don't think she would've been told that much, the generation before her though sure. it seems as though in the last 20-30 years they haven't needed to be told though... this could be wrong or an over-simplification, but i've heard that the birthrate is just so much higher than jobs can provide for that they're basically bringing it on themselves.

Wouldn't surprise me if this chart is true. The problem is that you can't supress and exploit a part of the nation then lift it and expect them to suddenly become educated and sensible.
Throw in a "helpful" catholic church condemning condoms and relatively good health care and you have yourself a nice population explosion of angry people wanting "their" land back. Considering that at least half of the SA white people are still of the "old" mindset (my guess) and many, if not most, of the blacks are brought up primed with hate for white folks this is all prepared to go right in the shitter. Just look at the US.......
They set themselves up to fail big time (with a lot of well meant but ill directed help from abroad, I assume).
And the supremacists will sit there and laugh "told you so".
