See this is the issue right now. Funding for the sites hosting isn't the problem at all. I could literally pay for all the site hosting and my bank acount wouldn't bat an eyelid. It's people's time and expertise that's lacking. SN is never going to provide anyone with a full time job. So it's always going to be voulentary work. I feel SN needs to open its self up to it's users more and bring in some users to help out where they can.

agree. with more minds involved the more likely ideas and progress is likely to come about too.
people of course have other stuff to do, and i don't think anyone would have anything bad to say about critikal or his work, but then if it's too much you've got to open the workload up to offers.

I say we just move to our own subreddit. We can have the same mods, the same user base but with no maintence or hosting fees. Some of you guys may be attached to the old site and I do get that, but really there is nothing we can do here that we can't do on our own subreddit.

It's our own little piece of the internet. Thats kinda of the appeal of spiked. I'm afraid something like reddit would ruin it. Anyway why abandon it now, when all it needs is just some bug fixing. All I really want is to fix this comment system and video thumbs.

I mean, no one would find us on reddit unless the explicity knew to look up Spiked Nation. New users also isn't a bad thing, we have so few now that's it's pretty stale. The state of the site is also mostly keeping me away.
We can bleed out on here or bleed out on a website that actually functions as intended.

You're probably right. Unfortunately the move to a sub-Reddit is essentially a white flag and I see it happening with us losing most of our members and only ~10-15 people commenting on videos and then commenting will eventually trickle down to nothing. On SpikedNation.com right now I notice that there are really only three to four main video uploaders and mostly the same commenters.
