She reminds me of our prime minister a little bit. Similar millenial/mass appeal, based a lot on feelings rather than results.

not all that familiar with nz politics, but last i heard they were almost verbatim policy wise with obama/hillary views, which would put nz in stark contrast to aoc.

I'm more just talking about the public perception, not so much policy. She's a media darling, popular for feel-good politics. Jacinda's policies & general career path is inline with Obama/Hillary. She uses that "humanitarian" card for propaganda but made her bones working for Tony Blair shortly after the invasion of Iraq. In other words, a leftist hypocrite that a lot of people are suckered into feeling good about, thanks to some sophisticated PR, a fawning media & an ignorant populace. AOC is working for the establishment in the same way - she's no threat, more like packaging.
