I'm torn by this. I've never been a Sonic fan and don't care about the character or its games. I think Sonic looks silly and out of place in the movie. I think that trying to make him interact with the real world is cheesy and stupid. It is going to be an absolute cringe fest every time Sonic is on screen.
But holy shit does Jim Carrey look entertaining as Dr. Robotnik.

For sonic it's appropriate. He reminds me of the cartoons I saw as a kid.
I just hate the marketing package they dressed it up with. And I'm not on board with a human protaganist "Side kick" It's supposed be about Sonic and the other mutant forest animals battling the mad sceinces and robot armies.
