Well I don't think he is. He is the king of right wing red herrings. On most scientific issues he has his facts wrong and his argumentation is forcing others to debunk his as quick and simple as they are wrong statements by using rather complex explanations, which he then interrupts rather quickly. He avoids talking to scientifically educated people on scientific subjects.
Also he had his arse handed to him quite elegantly by a conservative UK journalist who would not take his shit but stuck to his guns.
