I use to think gangsta style was laughable, but if you do pistol drills where you fire with the pistol still close in, it's only natural to cant your hand like that. Once you're fully extended then sure, holding it sideways to kinda weird but accuracy is uneffected by tilt, so as long as you've got good sight alignment and trigger control, put them rounds on target and get the job done.
