These kind of building projects seem to be everywhere in China. The scale is mindblowing, without even talking about how fast they put them up. As a fan of sim city games I'm pretty jealous they get to do it irl with the settings maxed.
At the end you see a 4 story apartment - these are what the taller apartments are replacing. Makes you wonder wtf's next.
Below is some street-level footage of an average residential neighbourhood in Qinhuangdao (East of Beijing). Boring video but the idea was to capture the vibe of the place.

We get it. Everything in China is sunshine and rainbows. It's all you ever post. I've been there. There are some great things but Jesus, go easy. It's not Nirvana. Enjoy your stay.

Nirvana, lol.
Air quality has been fine so far, apart from Shanghai. I'll be in Beijing in a few days & will keep you posted. Appparently Beijing is the worst but this list says Baoding is the worst... well I'm in Baoding rn and just took this photo (the dirty hue is because I took it out of a tinted window):
Granted, it's Autumn here & still pretty warm. A local tells me it's pretty bad in Winter.

I'm sure that it's a nice day that day, the air is crisp and clean. And that fog in the distance isn't pollution its the horizon rendering in.

looks similar to the places i've visited in taiwan and japan, but on a huge scale. like a handful at a time vs entire city.

Jesus Christ, there are far too many people on this planet. Mega City One isn't far away.

very cool man, I've been to China Guandou, Donguan and Shenzen. All pretty neat. Enjoy your stay, post more things you find interesting and cool. I haven't been there since early 2000's so this is pretty cool to me. just saying
