You can't possibly be unaware that the scientific consensus is that man-made climate change is set to increase the global temperature by several degrees unless we cut greenhouse gas emissions. I can list some references for you on surveys of scientists if you can't spare the 60 seconds it takes to google them, just ask.
Regarding developing countries like China and India, we should probably first recall that despite their large manufacturing sectors (which subsidise our lifestyles) they have still emitted considerably less CO2 than the west:
I think it would be a good idea to encourage developing countries to minimise emissions, but maybe the wealthiest countries of the world and the largest cumulative emitters should lead by example?

I wouldn't be surprised to see a die-off due to food shortages from crop failures. Just the loss of the central United States alone would result in a lot of the world starving. Wars would likely erupt of course but I'm waiving that.

OH and the parents "and their children" had just put out a book about climate change prior to her appearing in the media. On top of that, the mother is the Royal Court singer in the Swedish court (Sweden is still a monarchy) and her father is an actor/writer. They have been photographed wearing antifa tshirts, which are apparently the father's. Also no one seems to be asking how Greta is getting back to Sweden, because it's not on the same sail boat. This child has grown up in extreme privilege.
Seems really funny the chain of events on political manipulation. It used to be actors, Clooney, Damon etc, that didn't work, so then they moved to young actors, Kuscher and others, then that didn't work. Next was the young actors at Stone Douglas high, all that were on TV were part of the acting troupe at the school (David Hogg's father had connections to the FBI as well). Now that didn't work and they're moving to mentally ill children who are being taught by actors. What next? no one but fools listen to false idols, and anyone making threats and almost emotionally breaking down when asking someone for something, is not mature in the slightest. How about you buy me lunch and I'll listen, if you give me good points, sure, I'll listen. Going to threaten me and clutch your pearls? "how dare you!" from a god damn child? Get. Fucked.

Then why have I come across no clear consensus across the scientific research. This is why I lost faith in this movement. I was young and was like many of these kids, but I was in the science route in school and would read papers, many of them did not at all align with what they're stating. The biggest thing recently in climatology is that the community is not certain CO2 is the major factor in heating in the atmosphere, many are convinced methane is the key GHG. This is within the past 10 years that more people have become split on this topic (and there are many more) and this idea that CO2 having little to no effect has been discussed and published for 30+ years. These people aren't interested in an actual debate, it is a religion.

In the scientific community there is consensus about the influence of greenhouse gases on the climate
People have become "split" on this because on one hand many climate "activists" and even some "scientists" like to exaggerate and make a sort of immediate doomsday scenario off it and on the other people nd press (mostly because of theoir political agenda) throw out red herrings and make outright false statements (all of which are rather punchy) that may make sense at first glance but need a lot of time and effort to explain why they are wrong. So the splitting factor is politics. In general the more right leaning part of the world likes to "deny climate change".
Favourite "punchlines" are "Now it's methane, not CO2", "now the earth is cooling", "now glaciers are growing", "it was the coldest winter in *wherever*" etc. etc. all of which can be debunked, albeit a little effort is necessary.
There is no debate to be had if the scientific community is in consensus.
Neither is it a religion as the science is solid.
If you want an unpolitical overview potholer54 made a nice video series about climate change and regulaily debunks statements from "deniers", all science is referenced so you can check for yourself. The first video originated in 2008 but since then only minor details have changed, not the overall concept of climate change.

They compare the high of today/yesterday/whatever to a record that has been held for over 60 years. Which is weird when you think about it because it WAS HOT BACK THEN TOO, and we are way worse now on emissions and shit right?
Climate change is real, the earth goes through changes naturally, are we speeding that up? Probably, but all the data over the last 20 years suggests it is less than 1 degree. LESS THAN 1 DEGREE. So, sit back and wait for earth to take you into the ice age itself, when it is ready. I figure we have about 50-100 million years. So, myah.

Interesting arguement, depends on the situation now doesn't it? Where you live, how long you travel to and from work everyday, the prices of gas, and the yearly cost of maintenance. I can break down the numbers for you, but I will just give you a couple of specifics.
55k-60k miles a year.
Gas is currently at $2.43 /gal
My electricity is free at night from 8pm - 5am
Telsa doesn't have very many moving parts, and also doesn't take oil.
if I put all my gas money (i would have spent) and oil changes (i would have spent) on the Tesla I literally pay off the car $24,000.00 faster over the course of my 7 year loan. (my current plan of action)
when the loan is over, I will be saving shitloads of money if my Tesla lasts for 500k miles. Or you can just pocket the 24k over 7 years and have more money. So yes, I save money.
Climate change is real, I just think the earth does it more than we do. Unless, you want to take up the new therory which says FRACKING is causing earthquakes and natural gases + volcanic erruptions that poison our atmosphere. Which i am beinging to think is more plausable.
Long story short, if you are correct and it is man made, we can't reverse it, because it has been happening since the 50's.
If Iam correct than we can't reverse it, because the earth is doing it anyways.
Either way, we are fucked.

The scientific consensus has never been that there would be a "climate doomsday" by 2019, but the predicted effects are pretty severe.
