Tesla releases it's first pickup truck in all it's aerodynamic glory. I must admit, my first reaction is that it is ugly AF but having 120V, 240V outlets and an onboard air compressor could be a nice upgrade for some workers.

We shall see.

There are very few interior shots, some more may be coming from the live streams people took during test rides.
I really wonder what market he is going after. With the F150 being one of the highest sold vehicles ever you think attacking that market would be an opportunity but I believe this look is too far of a leap. The strategy could be to simply create a new market and undermine the existing one vs competing head on. But with Ford coming out with an electric truck, this look seems to be a very tough position.
Maybe the plan was to build it for Mars.

146,000 reserves already, at $100 deposit a reserve.
I think they are going to be okay.
I personally love it, it grows on you quick. It is utility based, big, and to me looks like something out of Alien or even like a lunar rover. I am hyped up! No paint (sure you can get a paint option) means, they were aiming for no hail or sun damage. Although, because most people park their trucks in the sun, and this is a straight up Metal door, how hot do you think it will be after 8 hours of work?
I like:
6 and half foot bed
Garage door like cover
led lit bed
modular bed, with compartment rail system, or movable tie down points
extra storage up front and under the bed
HUGE inside
500+ MPG
mega towing capacity (that will no doubt eat your battery faster than ever)
air suspension
I like the lights in the front.

Are you telling me, you built a truck out of a delorean?

WTF They actually thought this was a good look.

This would be a really good Carmageddon car.

That thing looks like they 3D printed it from a PS1 game.

Saudi money is pouring in for them already for their associates.

Definitely needed this guy for that demo.

Already over 140k order already but seriously is this truck even street legal? You're certainly the killer and not the killed in a crash driving these.

Following the reveal the shares took a dive...... The public seems not overly impressed.

A bit of a miss on pricing. I just priced a F-150 with the same specs and left a bunch of options off for $63K. Tesla isn't competing with the lowest cost version, they are competing with the highest cost version.
Not to mention all the additional perks that Tesla has that are not even available with the F-150, then factor in the gas savings which will be an order of magnitude more significant due to the use, finally thow in some maintenance and not only is the cybertruck very close in price to a loaded F-150, a few years later it will be.
And of course, don't forget which is going to have a WAY better resale value.

It does sound great. I hope it's just another step in that direction. I hope that bringing it in for simple maintenance or repairs isn't like an Apple rip-off shitshow. I'm probably in at Cybertruck 4.0 I won't be buying one but I hope people do and it works.

Don't care much for the guy's presentation but he makes a few good points.

I'm gonna have to prostitute myself for the next year or two in order to afford this baby.
