Yup, scared the shit out of top brass everywhere! They always thought they could just send everyone else in to fight for them and they never thought there would be a day when they themselves would be taken out just like the millions of men they send out! Good! This will probably end or prevent more wars in the future!
Patrick Cockburn is the most knowledgable MEast author I know of, by far.
I disagree completely that it prevents future war or that anyone has been scared by that cowardly drone attack, other than Americans of course but they're a timid bunch. It has opened a window for Trump to get out of Iraq, Syria & Afghanistan but I don't think he has what it takes to do it. We'll see. Muqtada al-Sadr is calling for a million man march against the US military presence in Iraq. He is the key to how things play out in the near future IMO.
There was a meeting yesterday between Iraq's central govt & the Kurdistan regional authority. Both sides didn't seem to agree on whether US should be allowed to stay. Central govt wanted their support to kick US out but it wasn't explicitly given.
