Saw this on a hike. My colour vision isn't perfect, so at first I thought it was a tomato someone stuck to a tree.

Quite obviously a grouping of Inocutis levis, a fungus characterized by the absence of setae, the presence of a rudimentary granular core, and the presence of sclerified hyphae in the granular core. Don't eat it as it would lead to a painful death...
