Curiously, if it isn't poluting the site with duplicates, then what is the issue? Why would content be erased? What does voted off mean, I assumed it was the "front page" you make it sound like the entire site. I hate TYT videos, but people should have the right to post them if they like them, i just don't watch them.
Also, when I first read this I thought you were being sarcastic, but as I am checking the new videos and I see you are actually posting on multiple videos he is uploading. What is the problem here exactly? Sounds like some users (there aren't that many of us anymore) are emailing you complaining about content posted, even though they don't have to click on it.. you are asking the user not to post a vidoe that was perhaps taken down by (you?) again?
Also, I used to log in and see if anyone has commented on a video I have commented on in the past which kept the dialog flowing, that feature seem to me to no longer be available. I can see the videos and under them if new comments were added, but it is general comments and not user focused on responses anymore. A little help if that feature is still available and how I access it.

i admit i was going in blind here when i posted that however since then i've been incontact with blackswordsman about the issue. i've been only getting one side of the story untill now.
here's what i now believe is occuring. if person A posts something that person B does not like or the conversation in the comments doesn't go person Bs way they can exploit the voting system to have said content removed also removing the comments accociated. all you have to do to achieve this is use multiple accounts and to give the content a bunch of 1 stars. the votes hit a theshold and the site automaticly removes the video.
because blackswordsmans content was being deleted (by the site) he was reposting it. i want to be clear, i'll only delete content under certian conditions (snuff, porn, animal cruelty, user security, russian spam for example) or if someone is directly trying to piss me off.
i'm in complete aggrement with you about the fact that if you don't like it don't click on it and because i don't click on political stuff i was unaware this was happening.
now, what am i going to do? i'm considering disabling the feature entirely. i can see it and if it causes instability to the site i can always re enable it. also i'm going to check ip addresses. if i can figure out who's doing it i can ban them for a while. hell i may even make a video of me rolling a couple of dice to see how many weeks i give them.
the reason i may sound sarcastic is because i have a medical condition called sarcastic tourettes. i've been going to a panegyric clinic for that. the coach there said to me the other day "well done nakey you don't sound like a complete arsehole anymore, and it's only taken a decade. keep at it, by 2030 you may just be tollerable". such a nice guy.
oh the tracking feature? if you click on "my account" and click on "track" that may get you what you want. hope that helps.

Thanks for taking time to explain to me. I do appreciate all the work that goes into this site, I do like to come here to try and hear both sides of an arguement, as well as just relax and watch some videos that others find interesting. Found the setting that lets me track videos. Don't know why I kept missing that. Anyways, thanks for the response, more than tolerable if you ask me.

Look at the new posts page - they know eyes are on them with the stink that's been raised so they aren't downrating the typical vids anymore only buffing the usual suspects. Dore has a normal profile, Styx has a normal profile, and vids trying to break down the problem and find paths to unity have a normal profile.

My proposal would be that vids that don't achieve a score of 3 at 12 votes miss their chance at the front page, but they are NOT deleted forever from the site along with the conversations they had sparked. They stay until they fall off the edge of the new posts page, which currently extends to a max of 7 pages. It will disappear anyway once it falls off the edge - what is the point of allowing people who aren't interested in discussing the content of the post to delete it from the site along with the conversations it has sparked 45 minutes after it goes up? It destroys the quality of the site.
This way, Daft Cunt and his relations can still have fun ensuring discussions they don't want people to have or see are prevented from reaching the front page, and the rest of us can still discuss and debate video content we're interested in discussing.
When it comes to the VPN sock accounts - NO. Something has to be done about that, but I'm not sure what you can do. I don't know that you have the time, or will, or incentive, to detect and/or stop the VPN shenanigans. Every once in a while someone makes a mistake and gets called out, the sock account crap stops for a while, and then once whoever it is feels the coast is clear it start up again.
Believe me, Nakey, I've been tempted to do the VPN thing myself when I've been at the limit of my frustration. I haven't succumbed to that temptation, as easy as it would be to set up and get going. It'd be a lot easier than trying to convince and persuade through reason and argument, lol. That's why people without principles or integrity use the tactic. For now I've settled for just pouncing when someone like Charles (AKA MonkeyMania AKA half a dozen other past accounts) fucks up.

Thought I'd chime back in. I think the simple rule, a basic level of respect, for the site people should follow is that you don't rate videos you don't watch. You can't rate content you haven't consumed - it's logically impossible. The purpose of this site is to post videos and then talk about them. If ten people watch the vid and all ten think it's garbage then that will be reflected in the ratings.
For the past 5 years what we've had instead is multiple accounts, some of them run on VPNs that assign unique IPs to each account instance OR spiked nationals conscripting family to get accounts here and check in once or twice a day, to rate vids without watching them for the sole purpose of preventing the content poster or content producer from having their content consumed and discussed in the comments. Spiked has been a fascinating little microcosm of what's been happening with platforms where folks seek to express themselves across the internet. The ideology that seeks to force obedience or subjugation is garbage, but the tactic used to establish its dominance is effective, and it has been employed here at Spiked Nation.
With a participating population so small, and the threshhold for rated vids being knocked off the site (less than a score of 3 at 10 ratings), it is extremely easy for just one or two people to completely dominate content on this site by behaving dishonestly and insincerely - gaming the system. It has driven many people off the site.
