i personally got over hunting after a while because i didn't see the point, although i do likes me some shooting down at the range.
if it's legal, you make the kill as it clean and quick as you can, you eat what you kill, and clean up after yourself.
i say have at it.

That much fucking ignorance. Hunting deer for eating or animal control is not cruel. Here in spain they hunt for "sport", that is different.
