Hello friends,
I'm back with my new piece! Went ahead and made Pennywise this time around. Going to stick to a Halloween theme this month and try to crank out a couple more sculpts before the 31st. I have some pics I can post later on, or you can check my other pages for a good gallery. I haven't posted the Pennywise production shots yet but will do so in the next few days. Having a lot of fun making these, but it is a big job, and as of right now, this is still my hobby. Hope I can expand it and get a real operation going someday.
Let me know what you guys think!

very amazing! The light up eyes is a very nice touch! if you dont mind me asking, what kind of clay do you use? is it air-dry or ya gotta heat it up? ..ive only dabbled with sculpey making tiny figurines. Keep at it man!

Heeey,
I use a water based ceramic style that's air drying and nylon reinforced. I found it's the best way to go if you're going big. Doesn't require firing, but you can heat it if you want to. The internals I use to give these pieces stability and keep them light weight precludes putting them in the oven. It's quite ok on it's own, but like anything, you dont want to be too rough with it once it's dry. And thank you!

Awesome work man , allways interesting to watch ..how about some more detail technical stuff ? Like how you do different surface textures etc ? Do you teach sculpture ?
(Short Spike)
You're too kind. I have no training in this area in any professional sense. So in regards to teaching, I am teaching myself everytime i try something new - but I am considering making a second channel for tutorials in the future. You're comment is a huge compliment though, truly. Thanks.

Hey man, check out my post history. I did The Night King and put it up here just over a month ago. I didn't flag it as OC, but in hindsight should have. I wasn't sure how fervent fellow spikers would be to support my work and didn't want to get too uppity, but I am really glad to see you guys like it.
Could definitely use some help with subscribers on my channel, so feel free to hop on board there too.

As a Potter myself, I must say. EXCELLENT JOB on all your pieces.
Maybe take a sculpting class at a community college to get the whole firing process down.

So awesome! Bravo! Makes me proud to be from Spiked!
(Short Spike)
that's awesome of you to say. Thank you!

I've been a member here for many years, and I thought it would be good to get some input from you guys. I have a folder dedicated to "ideas" for future sculpts, but you fellas can weigh in on what would be fun, smart, interesting to do next. Right now I am gravitating towards "smart", as I need to build my subscriber base up. This implies trying to stick with what's trending, whilst remaining true to my genre preference (fantasy, dark fantasy, horror, sci-fi). Pennywise turned into a brilliant move so far, but I am trying to think of "what next". I am ready to sculpt today I'm so stoked, but I am not sure what's the best thing to make. There's plenty I would like to make, but it's a critical time of attention and focus, so I gotta be smart about it. I was gonna do Freddy Krueger, a custom witch, or Nosferatu next, but they aren't "current". Feel free to weigh in.

One Halloween thing that always remains current is The Nightmare Before Christmas! (Edit also Rick and Morty!)

Logged on to YT just to give you my like. You have an amazing talent and if Youtube can help you make money out of it then go for IT.

I would like to see "aknot" (bad alien from 5th element ) such stylized features might make an interesting sculpt ?

Very difficult act to follow with this Pennywise. I don't think there's anything I can make after this that will be as popular. There's a ton of things I want to make, but I am recognizing the importance of staying relevant to "the now". I'd even make an old "creature from the black lagoon", but it wouldn't get much attention, sadly. I think I may stick around the classic horror genre until the 31st, maybe do an iconic character since current ones are now exhausted. But I like your idea. Maybe I can get on that at some point too.

Damn dude, you got some real talent. That looks amazing!
(Short Spike)
Thank you. Thank all you guys. This thing is really taking off. Most popular video I have made yet. I'm stunned.
(Long Spike)
Well, you did a fantastic job. Just got a sub from me!
(Short Spike)
Great work Rakshir! Keep it up!
(Short Spike)
Thank you sir! I shall endeavour to pursue this as far as I can take it.

Thats fucking insane. Awesome job.
I was trying to make a replica of the golden idol from indiana jones but I have no experience with clay. Any suggestions?
(Short Spike)
Hmm, that could be done in a few ways since it's small enough. You could use a styrofoam ball or egg as the core and build around it with air drying clay, or you could make a core of aluminium foil and build around it with polymer clay (which you bake to harden). Basic sculpting tools are a must for detail, of course.
