Also it's a total false equivelence to compare the bombing of Pearl Harbour to Japan's invasion & occupation of China, Korea etc. US was never occupied by those sadistic freaks. China lost around 25 million people in that war. US lost 435k incl both Euro & Pacific theaters & came out as the only major power left standing. US did extremely well from that war & immediately embargoed China & helped Japan build their economy right up after looting what they could for reparations - none of which were given the the Asian victims of Japanese aggression.

I can name dozens that the US has committed & some that Japan are committing today to the people of Ryukyuan Islands that they've been colonizing & culturally genociding since the US gave it to them in the 1970s, treating them as 2nd class citizens with US bases plaguing their homeland, not to mention Japan's plan to spew their radioactive water into the Pacific.
I've been to China & Japan. Japan peaked in the 1990s tbh. Traditional "Japanese culture" is based on Korean & Chinese, mainly the latter. All of their traditional culture is other than Shinto which isn't huge there. Tokyo has some decent nightlife. One of the perks of westernizing the fuck out of the country. I'm not surprised in the slightest that Japan appeals to you, it has very good image in the west, since wwii it was only demonized during the late 1980s/early 1990s when it started rivaling the yanks but they got re-cucked & now they're our pet asians once again so can enjoy positive coverage, hence the typical westerner's views on the place.

As a history nerd, isn't Japans history just as interesting? I read that Japan has had a great effect on Chinese culture On it's language, architecture, culture, religion, philosophy, and law. So kinda China has some of it's root in Japan.

It was almost complete one-way traffic in every way - culture, tech, everything - & for the past 400 years Japan's been basically isolated, besides their expansionist suicide in early 20th C, their main involvement with continental Asia was marauding pirates since they lost a war in Korea in 1590s. Before that there was some cultural exchange but it's always been Japan learning off China since the 6th C when China brought Japanese out of the dark ages & taought them proper metallurgy. Japan basically copied from the Tang Dynasty for the next couple centuries & that's what you call "traditional Japanese culture". Besides Shinto. The katana is based of the Tang Dao & then it was curved later for durability. Karate is from Ryukyuan Islands & rooted in Chinese kung fu. Judo also has some roots in Chinese wrestling. Jiu Jitsu I think is properly rooted in Japan. JJ & Shinto. Anything else besides pedo porn?
