WOW, this lady should never have passed an employment selection process for police officers! She looks about 5 feet tall and severely overweight as well as mentally not very stable. The complete opposite of what is required of a beat cop!

I think you're both being too hard. I mean, don't get me started on the physical requirements for cops being lowered but I think you have to allow for the adrenaline rush. She's coming back down and tears, for some, can be part of that. The other driver just blew through the intersection so I'm just glad they appear unharmed for the most part.

In contrary to the mysoginist police hater above I believe I have a fairly balanced approach when it comes to police and employment requirements. Beat cops should be "better" than average in a few categories and have minimum requirements of employment that are regularily checked during employment. The lady in the picture panicked completely in a non life threatening situation (she repeated several times she is not severely injured), is very small (her position towards the steering wheel makes me think she is not much taller than 5 foot) and overweight, borderline obese (hard to tell because I think she is wearing a vest). None of these traits you want near you in an emergency situation, that may involve hard physical activity like pulling severly injured people out of a burning vehicle, restraining a 6 foot male drug addict, being in an aggressive environment or incident with several severely injured and killed people including children. In these situations police MUST have their act together and act quickly and rationally without swearing at or threatening suspects or bystanders. Their may be issues like PTSD that need to be attended afterwards but in the situation you want police to be relied on! Similar applies to firefighters.
In Germany the employment requirements (physical) of beat cops is different (less challenging) for women as it is for men, which is sexist in the first place if you ask me. Hence if one is in a situation threatened with violence or which may become a hard physical task you better ask the emergency operator to send men!

Like I said, don't get me started. It's also been proven that one is more likely to reach for their gun if they don't have the physicality needed for the role. Gone is the day when all cops were 6+ feet and just plain imposing.
I can't speak to her reaction any more than to say that one never knows how tough the metal is, until it's tested. I think I saw an old boxer in a documentary saying the same thing about men's skulls. Some are solid. Some crumble like papier mâché. You don't know until it's hit.

I hear ya, no way to test. Some people crumble under the adrenaline rush. But!!! If you crumble then perhaps this is not the job for you! Imagine hiring someone to climb towers or build bridges and find out they have a fear of heights? Imagine if someone punches someone like her? What do you think would happen? Thats how people end up getting shot all the time.

You're not wrong. But it's a fraternity in the end. They take care of their own. I'm sure they'll offer her a job at the dispatch office to start.
