Grayjay is the way

The video was removed NOT because he created an app but rather because he disregarded yt conditions probably by promoting "alternatives" that possibly could make yt lose revenue.
Still, despicable, especially with the current crackdown on adblockers.

Not surprised at all that he got a ban. He was always defending the rights of people and talking shit about corporations.
He always said he doesn't care if gets banned, I think he saw it coming.
Edit: his channel is still up. I guess they just banned the video promoting the app?

yeah, i think you're right but he's on thin ice.
this app is literal youtube Kryptonite and they hate it so hard it's like someone called for a jihad. try putting the word "grayjay" in a youtube comment and see if the comment gets deleted or if you can even simply post it.

Yeah seems like a great idea. Hope it gains traction but it might be hard to get people to switch over. Maybe if YT fucks around enough it'll get going. No desktop version is a big minus but it has plenty of good functions that you don't get with the YT app, like listening to music in the background and being able to download content for offline use.
I've been using Ymusic for that for a long time. Works well for when you want to listen to music or podcasts from YT when taking a walk or something when you don't want to have the screen on.

Not yet for desktops and probably never on apple!
WAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
They know that apple would never allow shit like this.

Doesn't matter what apple or YouTube or anyone else wants. This app is the first of its kind and because of the way creators are being treated very much an inevitable outcome.
People are been crapping on about going somewhere else but that somewhere else isn't as good or well known. Here's the answer.

well, let's hope they do a desktop version, I am pretty sure I am not the only one that hardly ever watches yt (or other) videos on their phone.
