interesting read on why it probably wont happen. tng, voyager and ds9 season 4 and on are stored on vhs tapes in ntsc format. can't be converted over to hd. they have to go back to before the editing was done

also remember from a "how it was made" type show or maybe it was one of the dvd extras, about how all the sets done pretty hastily and cheaply, but how it didn't matter because none of the cracks or glue lines would resolve on camera. if they ever recorded in HD, all the sticky tape would be visible.
you might've already heard that the reason tng was cancelled in favor of voyager and ds9 was that they could be produced much more cheaply, this was one part of that.
