Just saw a video of "Didn't miss" incidents and it isn't pretty. Not up to Spiked standards.

Ok, wouldn't it be a 'near hit'? Near miss means they didn't miss right?

A near miss or close call doesn't result in anyone being hurt - so it was a miss. A miss, with 'near' qualifying what kind of miss it was. ... It is near and it is a miss, so it's a near miss.
That said, I have to agree with you. It just doesn't look right.
