Google: "how long has boston dynamics been making robots?"
For nearly 30 years,...
It's too early to tell but TSLA is showing some great progress.

Maybe but it is way overhyped. Out of intertest, weren't we to see the trucvk and pickup this year?

I haven't seen it overhyped but then again I watched the original source (and not subsequent news articles). Honestly, there is so much 'pumping up' and 'dumping on' of TSLA these days, I find I can get ideas from news but need to validate with the source and make separate conclusions.
I don't even know when the Cybertruk was planned anymore. Honestly, TSLAs estimates for new things are guesses at best. Cybertruk will be here soon, there is no real technology limitations, maybe waiting for battery costs to come down some.
But self driving, I think that's like 10-20 years away, bots - even Musk said 3-4 years and I bet that version will not be the $20K one. He needs to be using them in their factories for like 2-3 years before they have enough practical use that he can honestly says when they are ready for the rest of us. I am estimating 5 years for some more commercial repetitive task bots and longer for a home butler or chef.
Still waiting for that Roadster, how long has that been???

And you are saying that set the expectation for the bot in one year?

I say that the expectation he created clearly was for something more special than a remote controlled thinky that needs to be carried on and off stage. lol
