A self-designated fact-checker contracted by facebook has decided they know more about medicine than the British Medical Journal, and censored data and data reviews with a "false" label without even listing what is apparently false about any of it.

This is what I say all the time, evidence, competence, PEER review. "Fact checkers" must have a good understanding of the topic AND present their findings so ithey can be tracked (watching a potholer video on climate change will give anyone a clear understanding of how this is done correctly). Simple as that.
The problem is that the majority of people do not want to invest the time to listen to the real fact checkers as the debunking takes way longer than making flawed statements. Also way too many are happy when someone says what they want to hear.
Non-experts or agenda carrying·"fact checkers" may of course get things (deliberately) wrong.
