I (and I'm only giving an opinion here) think this plays in perfectly to his initial video warning about compelled speech, the one that shot him into the public sphere. Like, things have come full circle. If the 'college of psychologist of Ontario' compels a professional psychologist to retract statements that he's arguing were based on his education/training/experience the onus will be back on the board to prove his statements were false, damaging or misleading.
I'd like to see the Rogan video where the reference to Satanic cults is made...would like to see the context there if any, since on its own it sounds rather desperate or even despicable.

Not that he cares that much I think. He has his own cult followers of religious nutters, incels and others that somehow feel they have a (partly) supressed "manlyness", he is making money of. This will only become stronger if his license is revoked.
If the satanic bit existed it probably was removed and can only be found in some archives, this would come to light though if this continues. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he said it. For me it just goes to show what a vile little cunt he is.
Worse imho is to wrongly call the physician "criminal", stating it as a fact actually and not an opinion.

missing the point. this is about people and speech. if his license is revoked, anyone will be able to have anyone else sent to reducation based on who they've retweeted, and that is a problem for all.

I don't think I do.
For experts in this field there probably is a certain code of conduct, I would guess along the line of "don't spread hate speech" or the likes.
I think it can and should be expected of a professional psychologist NOT to call people "members of a satanic cult" or "criminal" just because they do not comply with the rules and thinking of one's religion.

Agree with you that 'criminal' is a stretch, especially if we're talking about legality. But, from the pov of the hyppocratic oath of 'do no harm', there's an argument to be made. I think we've all seen a video of some hospital administrator presenting in front of MDs the potential revenues associated with gender reassignment (initial surgeries and life-long maintenance therapies). A video that if you see it, kind of hints at profit over ethics.
Though it might be a shame for the profession to lose him, from a fiscal standpoint I don't think Peterson would be too worried..

a rando charlatan disagreeing with the decision to perform a cosmetic surgery has no bearing on whether harm was caused

as far as ellen/elliot page is concerned he is, they're not close by any stretch, he's just a rando self help cult guy who says he can turn sad guys with frustrated masculinity into a man (lol)...at no point would ellen page have considered running her decision by him before making it, thus he's a rando

good point, i'd love to see it turned back on those self-deluded pompous fools, but probably given how such brain-parasites have acted in the past, his comments will be deemed false, damaging, and misleading based on their own judgement. you can never be wrong when you've concluded that "right" is what you think.

the satanic stuff comes from the joe rogan show from january 25 2022. called them a sociological contagion comparible to the satanic ritual abuse accusations that emerged in daycares in the 1980s. and acceptance of trans people is a sign of civilization collapsing

Yes..but also no. They are specifically discussing the new phenomenon known as 'rapid onset gender dysphoria', occurring particularly more often in young girls and Peterson refers to it as a form of social contagion. Once again his detractors appear to deliberately be misrepresenting what was said. I found the sound bite about satanic cult phenomenon (some incident of mass hysteria in the 80s apparently).. Watch from this timestamp for 60sec to get full context.
Bobbob is sad now, as he realizes some folks use the internet to spread misinformation.

that was absolute nonsense. this is how it went. jr: what do you think about people that feel strongly that their not in the right body. jp: i knew this one guy with austism.... thats why i objected to bill c-16... changing sex terms confuses thousands of women. so psychological contagions are common, like the satanic ritual abuse...
i'm going to generalize this. you guys want to have conversations about wether or not people should have the right to exist under the pretense of freedom of speech while the rest of us as looking at you wondering how fucked you got to be to even want to have that conversation

You're straw-manning Peterson above and you're imputing folks motivations. Given that like me you've suggested you have gay friends (access to the community in any case) how do you feel about gay folks who say we're witnessing the potential end of gay culture. Meaning, poof (magically), you're a girl now. Poof, you're a boy now. Whereas if left alone, many of these kids could simply grow into adult gay men or women.

take your comment. being gay isn't being trans. you can be a gay guy and fuck dudes in the ass. that doesn't mean you want to become a women. the way you feel about women is the way a gay guy feels about guys. trans people are people that may or may not be gay but don't feel as though they're in the right body. you want to leave these people alone and think they'll just turn out gay. thats why i've never heard a gay person say their culture is dying

So you're saying any trans folks you might know had it all figured out in their teens or even preteens.. and that they wish they'd had received puberty blockers and reconstructive surgery at a pre-pubescent age, is that it. Be sure to speak for yourself and your position. Not anyone else's.
