Wow. I had no idea that they could keep people confined for so long. Seems a little pointless. If people are this troubled then don't they need help? And if so, they could at least let them see some trees.

Rehabilitation is no priority at all, it seems, in the american prison system, even in liberal states like california.
Why not give these people at least the possibility of assisted suicide?

My only thought to this is that the system is driving that decision. Though I guess these guys could do it if they really wanted.
