Moldova was granted EU candidate status in June 2022, they are basically waiting for the research on Moldova to be finished to be let in the EU, then i guess they will apply for NATO membership they withold NATO membership to use it as leverage to get in the EU.
Not sure if that is how it works though, but it could.
