My mother was in a nursing home like that for 8 years. It's a really shitty environment. Nurses get blase to the sounds of people crying for help, because too many of the infirmed cry out regularly. I remember this one lady kept pushing the emergency button like clockwork every couple minutes. Nobody answered. I still don't know why.
They really only pretend to care about your family when the family is present. Then they go into overdrive mode. "Hi, how are you? Is everything ok?" Mode. That's a couple hours a week. The other 99% of the time, who the fuck knows.
Most of the nurses working these places don't even want to be there. It's either raw new recruits with no experience, bitter lifer nurses who couldn't get a job anywhere else, and those looking to get enough experience to make the jump to a better-paying hospital gig. All that talk about caring for patients is almost 90% bullshit.
I hope these nurses get castigated. I hope they lose their jobs. I hope this nursing home gets the wrath of the state cast down upon them. I hope when they get to a nursing home themselves, they will be treated similarly to how they treated others. What comes around goes around.

I'm so pissed off after watching this.
My grandfather lives in a nursing home, and it's supposed to be a closed section, and the only way in or out is with a security code. But again and again we get calls from the police saying that he fell down and hurt himself somewhere in the middle of the city. How the fuck he got there? Nobody knows. The nurses look fucking retarded every time my dad asks them how it's even possible. He's gone for hours at a time, which means these bitches don't even care to turn their heads as they pass his room.
I was in a hospital once and the older gentleman laying next to me who had cancer told me: "Here's a little secret: they don't give a fuck about you. Take care of yourself. They won't." And after experiencing the nurses on nightshift who are visibly aggrevated by you talking to their fat asses in the break room(where they all sit all night) and the "doctors" who are straight out of medschool and look like children in labcoats, you truly do feel like a piece of shit, always in their way.
I met one nice nurse, older lady, as I was being discharged from the hospital. She made sure I ate some chicken, because she knew I hadn't eaten for two days. I wasn't even her responsibility and I was already dressed up to go.
I damned near started to cry.
