The question I have is why did he copy a video uploaded by LawnGnome?

The reason is because only one field, Title, appears. Beneath that it says, Media, but there is no input field, only a BROWSE button. This button leads to a screen with all of the videos on the front page, which you cannot leave without selecting from.
