The father of a friend of mine built, rebuilt and modified muscle cars in the late 60s and throughout the 70s. He was a Dodge man. Some of his primary customers were individual police officers who brought their squad cars to him for mods. He also says, and I believe him, that local muscle-car club members would drag race police officers down March road and elsewhere out in the country around Almonte and Carleton Place. The hard-drinking muscle car guys and the hard-drinking cops had more in common than they had differences, and drinking and driving was common for citizens and not particularly uncommon with cops. Interesting times.

That Model 18 is still a nice looking car.
