Is it weird for me to say that I find the presenter so attractive that she's almost painful to watch - I can hardly follow what she's saying half the time. It doesn't sound like it's her voice, but her mouth seems to move with the words. Can someone from Australia or NZ explain a bit more about sort of the politics and issues and interests that drive these vids in Australia?

On the Youtube clip it says "performed by Zoe, voice by Lucy", which explains the slight lip-sync issues you picked up. It's safe to say that they did this because Zoe is way hotter than Lucy, yes, she is a babe.
Anyway Australians for the most part are coddled ignorant plebs who don't like thinking about any issues more complicated than sport, and I say this with affection. The average Aussie will learn about some atrocity and forget about it within 2 minutes, not even pausing to reflect on how they're affected personally let alone change their behaviour or the way they should vote. Bugger off mate, It's too much, there's footy on. Same problem as America really.
Also like America, the people who are into politics are REALLY into politics, often to the point of literal insanity; but Australian politics is usually way more retarded (imagine that if you will). Our ex-PM once bit into a raw onion on live TV because he mistook it for an apple, then KEPT EATING IT because he didn't want to look like a fucking idiot. Which he did, and is, and always will be. Amen.
