Confederates were enemies. When we defeated Saddam , statues of him came down. When we defeated the Nazis , we left no statues of Adolf Hitler standing. If anything, we could put Confederate Memorabilia into museums like we do with Nazi memorabilia , as a reminder of the terrible people in history.

The toppling of the Saddam statue was a staged photo op. The famous Iraqi weightlifter who helped out says he now regrets his involvement and wants it back.
