Plowshare - Documentary on Peaceful Uses for Nuclear Explosions

This 1961 documentary from the Atomic Energy Commission delves into the possible applications that nuclear fission devices can have other than warfare. Among the proposals discussed are tunneling, mining, excavating harbors and canals. While these applications were not adopted in the United States, some such projects were in fact undertaken in the Soviet Union.
