A forest fire in Sooke Potholes Regional Park has been smoking up the surrounding area. From Mount Tolmie in Saanich, I videoed the smoke appearing over the distant hills and sped it up 50 times. I also did a timelapse of the sunset over Panama Flats in Saanich, which shows a fair amount of the smoke. Filmed July 23, 2024, with a OM System TG-7 Digital Camera. There wasn't too much smoke near our house by Panama Flats on the 23, so we had our windows open at night to cool down the house. Around 1:00 AM on July 24, I smelled smoke and closed the windows. Sooke and Saanich are part of Greater Victoria, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
