It is a bit of a trumpian publiciity stunt for the fanboys and to lure in some of the clueless.

Dude (Old Spike)
What a retard he left out a bunch of factors you got peak force on the regular truck and constant force on the electric.
You have different traction controll
My scientific conclusion - The entire electric thing is just better.

Thye issue is that the publicity stunt is just not cutting it and that it is (at least to me) surprising how little thought went into it. The factors that he "left" out are not relevant for this "demonstration".
If you equal the weight of the vehicles and the tyres they will simply both wheelspin (if the petrol car is a 4x4).
With regards to the tesla being "better" it will have to be looked at "what for". As a poser lifestyle vehicle featuring unnecessary gimmicks it is, although it maybe is a little too big for that. As a workhorse it probably ain't (at least not in the current design).
This is a shame as I would really interested in getting an electric pick up, I was even considering converting an older Nissan Navara or Ford Ranger with a broken engine (if I find one) using 2nd hand tesla parts but unfortunately here costs and regulations are prohibitive.
