I'm still waiting for a phone that doesn't drain its own battery and use my data plan to constantly gather and submit metadata. And that also gives me complete control over what apps are installed and running on my phone.

This is something I've found Android to be worse than Apple at. But they're both terrible.

I actually prefer apple after years of using android simply because I think apple waits till technology is at a level where it works better for long term use, I have dropped my xs max multiple times, not a scratch, I havent had a signle crash, havent had a single issue since getting it, albeit I am not installing as much apps as I did with my android but I can understand the merits to that...

flexible screen technology simply isnt there yet, the reason why android has all the best "tech" is because it rushes them into production for the "wow" sales whilst Iphone waits until the technology is ready.

if you use your phone as a phone and basic app use, get an Iphone... if you use all the latest apps and your phone is an extension of your pc(downloading torrents etc) get an android... otherwise it doesnt fucking matter, every year they release the "latest" phone and your old one becomes obsolete...

I've had both. I didn't see a noticeable difference in stability. Since Android phones come in a wide variety of manufacturers and designs we can't really compare build toughnes.

Apple apps tend to feel more refined and the IOS tends to have more useful features out of the box. But the beauty of the Android is you have a much wider pool of apps to chose from if you don't like something in the default options. If an app doesn't have all the features you want you will likely be able to find one that does with a bit of digging. Same thing for the OS features. You can most likely find apps that will do exactly what you want. IOS will have the most features out of the box so it is simple to use. But if you are even just a basic tinkerer you will have much more freedom to make and Android phone do what you want.

If I ever broke or lost my phone today and had to buy another one it would be an Android again for the Macrodroid app alone. (although I'd probably search deeper to pick one without bloatware) This app has allowed me to automate many, many things which made my life simpler. Apple's entire approach is to prevent apps like that to run on their phones. If Apple ever pulled their heads out of their asses and came up with an equivalent to Macrodroid (or just allowed a third party app like it to exist), maybe I'd consider switching back.

Not sure about macro thingy but apple shortcuts is pretty powerful automation tool, there is a reddit page for it and people have made some pretty unique scrips... one I use is an auto recording command through Siri, which switches off any music running, turns on video recording and dims the screen brightness all through one voice command( people use when they get stopped by police) great for those secret recordings... but there are loads of possible scrips you could make... look into that, I mean at the end of the day it's all preference but I have found the refined nature of apple better than the variety of android, each to his own I guess
