You can train yourself to somewhat be able to hit a large target from up close with a stockless shotgun, if you don't care not being 100% sure of where exactly your shot will go when you pull the trigger. But you'll never be as fast and accurate as you'd be if you spent the same amount of time training to use the sights with a proper, stocked shotgun.
