Australia can hide from its crimes...

Cover-ups. A specific incident described to Dr Crompvoets involved an incident wheremembers from the ‘SASR’ were driving along a road and saw two 14-year-old boys whom they decided might be Taliban sympathisers. They stopped, searched the boys and slit their throats. The rest of the Troop then had to ‘clean up the mess’, which involved bagging the bodies andthrowing them into a nearby river. Dr Crompvoets says she was told this was not an isolated incident.

yeah it did kill millions though... Australia's supported every US war since WWII that's killed tens of millions of poeple in wars of aggression (the ultimate war crime according to our own standards as set out at Nuremberg) ... & Aus didn't even recognize the native population as citizens until 1967. Before that they were classed as fauna with no rights at all & treated as slaves, chased off their land and genocided.

If you're trying to make some moral argument you're gonna lose & come off as an ignorant hypocrite.

We don't even need to go back in history to see what a bunch of lowlives the Australian government is, they refuse to do a damn thing about freeing this journalist who's uncovered a shit tonne of atrocities by the crime syndicate that Australia is a part of

You don't discuss a topic with a by-definition insincere wormtongue propagandist as though you're speaking with someone who can be taken at face value and seeks to tell the truth. You're just a bag full of props and manipulations.

Are you trying to say Australias treament of the natives is an equivalence to China in Tibet or is it more like how CCP treats anyone on the wrong side of Xi?

What as the topic?

topic is about hiding from historic crimes isn't it?

no there's no real comparison between British/Australia's treatement of indigenous poeple there to the treatment of Tibetans in PRC. British Empire/Australia genocided the natives from parts of Aus as they were colonizing it & didn't even recognize them as human for over a century. China re-asserted control of Tibet under their new commie govt, liberated them from theocratic feudal system & eventually lifted them out of poverty. During the first decade the CIA sponsored armed resistance in Tibet & has been trying to use the issue to fuck with China ever since.

They're apples & oranges. One was a long term atrocity of the gravest order & the other was asserting sovereignty over a region that's historically part of China, give or take some CIA fuckery.

As for "how CCP treats anyone on the wrong side of Xi" ...Julian Assange is on death's door & is an Australian journalist. His treatment has the implicit backing of the Australian government. On this there is some comparison with China's govt I suppose although they don't try to kill someone for political disobedience there so China wins again?

Danman, the problem is the two topics you propose are not the same. One was sanctioned by the govt and condoned or otherwise ignored by the vast majority of the civilian population, the other was not. The internet is a fairly new invention, people are still waking up and seeing what is going on, it takes time for the people to rise up and demand change. Its slowly happening but not in China, thats why China clamped down on it. The first step is admitting you have a problem, you think China would allow a report like the one you referenced? Nope!

They're commies, they document everything. They're also big on discipline. There was a case of a PLA soldier breaking discipline in their war in Vietnam in 1979 - he raped a woman - when they found out they court martialed & executed him. The Australian government has investigated their atrocities in Afghanistan in part because part it would have been to ward off any international prosecution for their war crimes - you can get off the hook if you show that you're handling it yourself. Your implication that Aus miltiary is some honest/transparent/ethical outfit is really dumb considering how they typically operate.

I don't know what you mean by these things being different tbh... I didn't watch OP's video. It's moralistic propaganda from a right wing British outlet & there's nothing I would learn from it because I already have been researching China's 20th C history from more realistic sources for a number of years & don't need this kind of silly video to know what happened.

China's just lifted 800 million people out of poverty while real wages in US haven't risen in the past 30 years, during which time the US has waged many wars of aggression overseas, diplaced over 40 million poeple & never punished a single war criminal or torturer...China hasn't fired a shot outside their borders since 1979. They are constantly changing though in ways you have no clue about because all you see is western propaganda... but you also insist they need to change?

This is all pretty fucking retarded if u ask me. If you disagree, tell me what it is u think they need to change?

I didnt watch it either. I already know what its about. I am under no illusion that we are any better. Personally, I really dont care about China. I am aware that every nations govt needs its enemy, its boogie man, gives the govt its power the people give, to "protect" from the boogieman, the "enemy". Im just worried that China is giving our govt some good ideas, good for the govt bad for the people. Vice Versa. Through the internet it gave us the freedom to exchange ideas, for a little while is was leading to some good change, but now that is being subverted, perverted and clamped down on. It has to remain just a little behind China though, otherwise they lose the boogieman, If China moves deeper into suppression then it will give our govt the green light to suppress further, just a little behind.

Also, I was talking about the difference between the actions of individual soldiers and actions condoned by govt. Apples to Oranges.

I still don't get what you mean by apples & oranges.

I wouldn't worry about Western countries following China's approach to civil rights. Not even our foreign policy teams seem to have a clue about China (most can't even speak Chinese), let alone domestic policy makers.

We are converging with our approach to shutting down dissent but that's just because it makes sense, not because we're copying China. The silencing of Covidiots is the kind of thing China does but that's because during a crisis, the loud & annoying idiots who spread disinformation around are harmful to the health of the country. It's just basic crisis response shit. For now the US is still doing what it's always done - fill people's heads with misinformation & distractions & run a crazy loud propaganda system to indoctrinate people & make sure they don't take aim at the owners in any effective way.

Western big tech censorship has a multitude of things it's silencing & promoting, some are at the behest of the govt, others aren't. They're not clean & mostly run based on their own bottom line. Not much of it is for the good of the people as the case is with silencing medical misinformation.
