959 Ukrainian bunker bois, including 80 wounded, have surrendered from the bunkers and tunnels below the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol since Monday.
694 - including members of the Azov regiment - have surrendered in the past 24 hours, including 29 wounded.
51 of the fighters requiring medical assistance had been transferred to a hospital in Novoazovsk, some 40 km east of Mariupol.
Ukrainian commanders are still inside the Azovstal steelworks and have yet to surrender, local media quoted pro-Russian separatist leader Denis Pushilin as saying on Wednesday.

83 days of Mariupol defense will go down in history as the Thermopylae of the XXI century. “Azovstal” defenders ruined russia’s plan to capture the east of ukraine, took a hit on themselves and proved the real combat capability of Ukraine … This was one driving factor that has completely changed the course of the war.. Forced confessions and kangaroo court trials will never sway majority public opinion away from the view that these guys were heroic. Cope with it, coward.
