I'm having a lot of trouble with this unwanted advances shit.
I've been hearing this a lot lately.
Forget the age factor here.
You know, I've made some advaces that were rejected in my life.
And I've rejected advances, because they were unwanted.
So how the fuck can we come on to somebody in these days?
Is unwanted sexual advances a legal term, of if anybody just feels creeped out can lay charges, like 30 years later?

Why would we forget the age factor here? There is good evidence that a portion of homosexual men took on that identity as a result of childhood sexual abuse - same goes for lesbians. Fucking around with kids is a hard stop - some argue 14 is old enough to fuck but we've made it illegal because evidence shows letting adults prey sexually on naive teens DEFINITELY fucks them up in almost evey case. No one doesn't know this - so if you screw around with a 14-year-old you should be done career-wise at least, if not charged with a crime.

"When he arrived at Spacey's apartment, Rapp quickly realized that he was the only nonadult there — which, again, did not worry him, since he so often had found himself in similar situations as a child actor. The bigger issue: "I didn't know anyone," he said. "And I was quickly kind of bored."
Rapp said he ended up wandering into the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed, and watching TV well past midnight.
At some point, Rapp said he turned to see Spacey standing at the bedroom door. And that's when he first realized that everyone else had left the party. They were alone.
“My memory was that I thought, Oh, everybody's gone. Well, yeah, I should probably go home,” Rapp said. Spacey, he recalled, “sort of stood in the doorway, kind of swaying. My impression when he came in the room was that he was drunk.”
Rapp doesn't remember Spacey saying anything to him. Instead, Rapp said, “He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don't, like, squirm away initially, because I'm like, 'What's going on?' And then he lays down on top of me.”
“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp said. “I don't know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”
Rapp recalled this all happening — Spacey appearing at the door, coming into the room, picking him up, and putting him on the bed — in one clumsy action, with Spacey landing at a slight angle on top of him. He said Spacey “was, like, pressing into me,” and that he remembers Spacey “tightening his arms.” But while he can't recall exactly how long Spacey remained on top of him, Rapp said he was able to “squirm” away after a short period.
“It was a frozen moment,” Rapp said of the entire encounter, with a deep, exasperated sigh. “In terms of fight or flight or freeze, I tend to freeze.”
After pushing Spacey off him, Rapp remembered he was able to step into the bathroom and close the door. "I was like, 'What is happening?'” he said. “I saw on the counter next to the sink a picture of him having his arm around a man. So I think on some level I was like, Oh. He's gay. I guess. Then I opened the door, and I was like, 'OK, I'm going to go home now.' He followed me to the front door of the apartment, and as I opened the door to leave, he was leaning on the front door[frame]. And he was like, 'Are you sure you wanna go?' I said, 'Yes, good night,' and then I did leave.""
"It was at first, however, relatively simple for Rapp to set aside his experience with Spacey. For one, Rapp said his training as an actor, even at 14, had taught him how to slough off traumatic events. As it happens, there is even a scene in Precious Sons that calls to mind Rapp's encounter with Spacey, in which Ed Harris's character drunkenly mistakes his son (played by Rapp) for someone else, climbs on top of him, and makes a sexual advance. Rapp doesn't know if Spacey ever saw him in the play, but, he said, “Looking back, I think that on some level my system was kind of weirdly accustomed to the action [of having a man crawl on top of me], because it had been happening in the play.”"

Probably getting crucified for this, but from the way the event gets described, Spacey never said anything or attempted kissing or the like. Is it possible that the situation with the drunk gay man was misassessed. A young teen broadway friend of his he hasn't seen the entire party is found sitting on his bed late at night after the party has ended and he is shit faced. I've been shitfaced so many times myself to the point of being unable to communicate before, so the ambiguity of the situation described here really worries me a bit. Could he have been intending to let the young friend of his stay the night and in a clumpsy maneouver stumpled and fallen while trying to relocate the boy?

was he invited? "he arrived at the aprtment" with who? why was he the only 14 year old at a party full of adults all drinking heavily? why was he there if he didn't know anybody? where were his parents or at least his chaperone? i think it entirely possible he assumed no-one at the party was underage, especially while drunk, and if you go into your own bedroom and find someone waiting there, what would you think they were there for? would "wow this guy shouldn't even be here and he just hasn't realized everyone else has gone home" even come to mind?

Rapp said he encountered Spacey again at one of those post-show functions, when a 17-year-old friend from Joliet was visiting him in New York. "And he was like, 'Hey! Hi! Come join us!'" Rapp said. Spacey then invited both boys to join him at the popular nightclub Limelight, even though, as Rapp explained, “I looked younger than 14.”
"I don't know how— We got in through the front door," Rapp continued. "We didn't have to show ID. And we sat with him in some VIP area." Rapp noted that he had no memory of being offered alcohol — "It was just a fun night just talking and hanging out," he said — and at some point, Spacey invited him to attend a party he was hosting a few days later at his Manhattan apartment.
hmm sounds like he just felt cool to be hanging out with the big boys and didn't know what he was getting himself into. others in that case should've been more responsible. if you invite someone you are responsible for them. still find it more than a bit weird there were no parents or chaperone involved though. even back in the day it was "yeah hang on first i gotta ask my mom... ...she said yes but she's picking me up ay 9."

I think he's lying. There's some stuff that just doesn't add up.
It could also be that he told this lie so many times that he believes it himself.
He claims he locked the box and threw away the key, but all his friends confirms that he's been telling this story since the early 90's all the way up until a few months ago. Getting into nightclubs, looking younger than a fourteen-year old, along with a group of twenty-something young men(who aren't famous yet, but still get into the VIP area). Consequently being invited to a party alone, and his mom not giving a single fuck, who conveniently is dead so we can't criticize her CALL CHILD SERVICES parenting. And claiming that they had a great night just talking and hanging out at that club with no alcohol being served? What interesting subjects did Kevin Spacey, a seventeen-year-old and a fourteen-year-old have in a night club with music blasting, while not buying anything?
He draws the line at serving alcohol to minors in a nightclub, whose entire business revolves around serving alcohol, but he still wants to fuck them, right?
And nobody batting an eye because things were just different back then?
GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.
I MEAN REALLY.
To me it seems this story came to be because an unpopular kid, that looked like a child most of his teenage years, struggling to be accepted, proceeded to lie to his friends, who told their parents, WHICH ALWAYS HAPPENS, which led to their parents asking questions like:
"What happened next? Did he hold you down? Was it sexual? Were his clothes off? Was he intoxicated? Did you kids drink alcohol at that club? Because that's a crime and could lead to SOME VERY BIG CONSEQUENCES".
Which leads to the tactic any lying kid, trying to keep their story straight to keep their friends, resort to when dealing with grownups. "Yeah, I think so. Mhm. Yeah. I'm not sure. I don't remember."
And this story broke with BUZZFEED by a journalist who of course has befriended this man years ago.
"Rapp and I have been friends since 1999, but he only shared the allegations with me in recent weeks."
I'm calling bullshit. Because this is something that would be very hard to prove or disprove. And every part of this story relies on this actor's memory alone, because there were according to him, no witnesses. Only stories he has told for decades, while alleging being too afraid to confront him at the numerous times he has met him since. Which is a behavior more reminiscent of a liar and not someone who is actually traumatized for life.
If this was an actual investigation and not a twitter hashtag, just a few questions could tear this guy's story to pieces. OR confirm it.
But that's not going to happen. So, there. The end of someone's career over a hashtag and circumstantial evidence.
I hope an actual news agency with at least some journalistic integrity left picks up on this story.
Don't get me wrong, if Kevin Spacey did this because he wanted to fuck kids, then forget him. But I don't see that evidence yet. I see someone claiming victimhood at the peak of a twitter fad relating to the misconception of human nature by ignorant people.
