I suggest you create a new page for the month eg. Forums/Something funny/'Monthly Image Submissions Page 1' or whatever and update the link on the announcement page you cited above to the new location. So, still 2-step but with an updated link (monthly or even quarterly, up to you). Sound better?

Yes good point, after a while the page would probably grind to a halt with all the images.
But, I can't edit your announcement post description. We could post the new link in the comments, but don't think that such a good idea. After a while it's just a long ass page with links. A bit confusing?
If you have rights to do announcements (I don't) then maybe do a new one every 2-3 months (or as needed) and delete the old one or move it somewhere. What do you think?
