Oh gosh. They made Jesus black. Is this in keeping with the ethnicity-swapping (sorry, still a biologist. there's only one human race) that we see in Hollywood productions lately? Wait,.. is this a Disney remake? I mean, that would explain things.. Still sad cause most of us moviegoers are ready for an asian Jesus. Would certainly help with marketing the movie in China.

On a more serious note, sad to see Jack Black getting even heavier. Really great talent and from what I hear even nicer as a person. Hopefully he turns that around and we don't lose him young.

i say this as a biologist. i think its ridiculous that you have a problem with an actor from halogroup L, potratying to be a make belief person who's supposedly from halogroup J because you feel that it should be an actor from halogroup R

You're mistaken. He lived. Take Him away and history is left with a giant Jesus-shaped hole. No one much cares that you've convinced yourself otherwise.
But you're missing my point. I'm tired of the description in Hollywood (especially from Mel Brooks, well-known Jesus supporter). It's time for asian Jesus. The world is ready! To be fair, I also won't rest until more black women are allowed to play the role of the 'office sexual aggressor' in those poorly-produced human resource training videos. Imagine being a starving actor going in for the job and they tell you you're 'simply wrong for the part'. It's discrimination I tell ya. ;-)

jesus, born from a virgin mother did not exist. as a fellow biologist you should know that humans can't reproduce asexually. that if we could, it would on produce females and they would actually be clones of the mother. the only hole is in your logic

So you want me to drop my faith in it being a divine event and rationalize it for you, scientifically, female to male cloning is that it? Ok. I'll play.
It is scientifically possible. Ideally the 'Y' chromosome is taken from a donor, preferably a brother since he would have a Y that was also successfully selected (gametic selection) in a pairing with your mom. But remember the Y came straight from dad. So it being taken from dad leaving the rest of the virgin's DNA complement in tact would lead to a male baby. It's said that Y chromosomes aren't very variable and can go back 10 generations unchanged so Grandpa's Y would also make a good substitute.
So that's how it might play out in a lab using our limited knowledge that you're putting up against God's infinite.
so, you would have to remove an unfertilized egg from the mother to be. remove the dna from the egg. introduce the mothers dna, then replace an x chromosome with a y that you've harvested from a brother. then implant that egg in the uterus. now, dropping your faith in it being a divine event and rationalizing it. explain to me how you would do that 2000 years ago

Ok wait, in case you still think we're playing your game..How 'we' would do it today let alone 2000yrs ago is irrelevant. You're restricted by your/our limited knowledge. It must really burn you that some of us aren't constrained by that type of thinking. Some will rely happily on faith..whereas you.. you just keep doing you. I mean if it's working for you,..right?

Also. Are we gonna talk about the obvious sex and ethnicity bias when casting 'office sex maniac' in corporate training videos or what?

bob, we're always playing my game. when given the option of inseminating a women with any mans sperm. you went with her brothers
you sure dropped being rational and scientific and picked up faith real quick. you made it one comment
how you do it 2000 years ago is completely relevant. you may not want to talk about it but i'll drag your through it. genetic manipulation is something we've only been able to do in the last 50 years. we only discovered the sex chromosomes in the last 100 years. only had microscopes for 400 years, which if we didn't, we didn't even know woman had eggs, we didnt know we had sperm. how ever restricted we are in our knowledge, they've got 2000 years less. being scientific and rationalizing it. genetic manipulation and in vitro insemination done by people with a literacy rate of 10% and mode of transportation is donkeys is ridiculous
gods impregnating women. that's so greek

Easier explanation, Holy Spirit. Newly discovered photo evidence in Backdraft's latest image gallery - just see for yourself.
